Ryde is a community that is rich with cultural diversity and many people with many different skills to share!
Timebanking is a NSW government initiative that provides volunteering opportunities within local communities. Your time is the currency exchanged between members. It’s as simple as give an hour, receive an hour.
Do you want to help someone by sharing your skills or offer your area of expertise to someone in your local area? Do you enjoy being an inclusive part of your community whilst helping other’s belong to their community also? Perhaps you need a helping hand around the house with daily chores, want to learn something new, or enjoy a chat over a cup of tea?
Are you an organisation seeking volunteers?
Everyone has something to give! So have a think about what you could offer and what you may need.
Once you become a Timebanking member, you are able to search through all the offers of assistance and requests for assistance made by other members. If you see someone's offer or request that you could complete, or that you would find useful, you simply contact that person to arrange the completion of the service.
Following completion of the task, the person who provided the service logs on to www.timebanking.com.au and registers the number of hours it took. The system then completes the exchange of time between the members involved. Of course, if any mistakes are made about the amount of time exchanged, your local Timebanking provider can correct the mistake.
